Our History

Our Post was named for Leonard Moore, a Clayton resident who was the first North Carolina resident to lose his life in WWI.

Since 1932, we have been serving the veterans and community, moving into our current home on Old Hwy 70W in 1965. We have a great mix of veterans, from retirees to members currently serving in the Armed Forces.

We are over 250 members strong and growing. Our Post is an integral part of the Clayton community and a proud advocate for veterans on the local, state and national level. Our local membership extends throughout the county.
